The trip will start at 8:00 am .You will be welcomed by an English speaking driver and drive to Ourzazat. The journey will take 6 hours in total including stops, breaks, time for visits and lunch. You will cross the high Atlas Mountains. On the way you pass through the town of Ait Orir before you switch to the high Atlas Mountains. You will stop for pictures to many typical Berber villages along the way, you will enjoy the pisé buildings of the fortified villages are of different shapes and sizes .The tallest are the Igherm (collective granaries). And you will drive and stop in the highest pass in morocco Tizi-n-Tichka (an altitude of 2260 M or 7,415 feet). This pass links Marrakech with the pre-Saharan regions. Then drive through a dirt road to the fascinating Kasbah of Telouet , it situated in the heart of Glaoua territory ,once held a very strategic position .long before Tizi-n-Tichka road built this group of Kasabhs stood on the only caravan route between Marrakech and Ourzazat . So, you will visit this Kasbah which is called ‘the Dar Glaoui. You will enjoy seeing its high crenulated walls flanked by square bastions, overlooks the Oued Imare. After the visit you will continure through the most colorfull dirt road in morocco with all its Kasabahs on the way to the biggest Kasabh of Ait ben Haddou. Different movies were shot in this Kasabh like the sheltering sky (1990) Gladaitor (2000) and many others. You will walk inside the Kasabh and visit a Berber family .lunch in a local restaurant. And after that continue to the Moroccan Hollywood to visit cinema studio or a museum also the Kasabh Taourirt . Overnight in a Riad in Ourzazat .
DAY 2: OURZAZATE – SKOURA – KELLAA MGOUNA – NOMAD CAVES TO THE DADES GORGE.
In the morning at 8:30 Am you will start the trip in the authentic morocco. First, you will drive to Skoura which is 40 Km away from Ourzazat .In this fertile oasis you will visit the 12TH century Kasabh of Amerhidil , this fortified stronghold used to be the house for a powerfull family responsible for protecting the village and its fertile land. You will visit the museum inside and enjoy the the motifs and its arcetecture it .then drive through the town of Imassine and Ait Ridi, the road reaches Kella des Mgouna. This place renowned for its roses and the festival of roses takes place every May .you will take a look to rose cooperative to see the kinds of cosmetic products. And from Ekelaa des Mgouna you will drive to the Boutghrare ,on the left and right bank of the river of Oued Mgoun consists of a large group of ruined Kasbahs whose lavish decorations can still be appreciated .And from the village of Boutghrare you will drive off road to see the nomads living in caves with this goats and sheep . You will stop to visit one of the caves to drink a cup of thyme tea and see inside the caves with the sheep and goats. After the break with the Berber nomads you will drive to the Dades valley .overnight in a hotel in the heart of the Dades Gorge.
DAY 3: THE DADES VALLEY –TODGHA GORGE-ERFOUD-RISSANI TO MERZOUA DESERT.
At 8:30 in the morning you will continue the tour to the Sahara desert. The valley has many Kasabahs and Ksours including the Kasabh of Ait Arbi, built of at the foot of volcanic rocks ,and you will enjoy seeing the asphalted road to what looks like the soles of human feet. And after that you will drive through Boumalne Dades , Imidar to Tinghr , and from Tinghir you will drive in a dirt road of 14 Km to the todgha gorge .on the way you will stop for photos for the beautiful valley and its vast palm grove and the Kasbahs on the opposite bank of the drive .you will have enough time inside the Gorge to walk like 30 minutes and take pictures of the cliffs and , maybe ,of nomads who come to fill up there bottles of water. Around 12:00 Pm you will drive back to the main road to the town of Tinjdad. Lunch in a restaurant. And after eating you will drive through the Tafilalet region to Erfoud and Rissani then Merzouga is coming up .when you arrive your hotel, you will relax for a mint tea and around 17:30 Pm you will be ready for the camel ride to the middle of the golden sand dunes of Merzouga. Overnight in a Berber tent .
DAY 4: MERZOUGA –RISSANI –ALNIF –NKOB –DRRA VALLEY –OURZAZAT – THE HIGHT ALTAS TO MARRAKECH.
It’s so nice to wake up befor the sunrise to witness the sun rising for pictures, then you camel guide will bring you back to the hotel for breakfast and shower. This day jouney is going to be long, you will drive back to Rissani then drive through a different road to Alnif and Nkob . Lunch in a local restaurant. after lunch you will continue the driving the Drra valley ,you will enjoy seeing the palm groves laid out along the banks and dotted with about fifty Kasabhs and Ksours ,many of them worth a picture. You will have a break in the town of Agdez for bathrooms then contuine through the windy road of Tizi –N-Tinififft (5,450 feet) to Marrakech via Ourzazat and the high Atlas Mountains. The whole way back from Merzouga to Marrakech is like 7 hours and a half. Drop off at your Riad/Hotel in Marrakech.
